About The Position

PRIME Occupational Medicine is seeking a Medical Assistant to manage and care for clients, recognizing and attending to their needs. This role involves performing a variety of on-site and clinical procedures, as well as administrative duties. The Medical Assistant will provide information, services, and assistance to clients and patients in both on-site settings and PRIME clinics. Key responsibilities include maintaining medical supplies, preparing clients for examinations, assisting in injury care, performing phlebotomy and injections under supervision, securing patient information, and maintaining a safe work environment. The position requires keeping equipment operational, enhancing job knowledge through education, and protecting the practice by adhering to professional standards. This role also involves updating and filing medical records, enhancing practice reputation, and potentially taking on-call duties, including after-hours services. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for setting up and breaking down on-site operations, packing supplies, and may be required to work overtime, weekends, and holidays. A dependable vehicle, valid driver's license, and the ability to drive significant distances weekly are necessary. The role also requires working at various on-site locations, including out-of-state travel.

Responsibilities

  • Provide information, services, and assistance to clients and patients in an on-site setting and a PRIME clinic.
  • Maintain medical supplies inventory, notify manager when supplies need to be ordered, and perform preventive maintenance to keep medical equipment operating.
  • Verify patient information and medical histories by interviewing patients, documenting medical history, and confirming the purpose of the visit.
  • Prepare clients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; drug & alcohol screening, audiograms, EKG's, pulmonary function tests, respirator fit tests; and reporting patient history summary.
  • Assist in injury care when at a PRIME clinic.
  • Perform phlebotomy service and give injections under the supervision of a licensed healthcare professional.
  • Secure patient information and maintain patient confidentiality by completing and safeguarding medical records within our electronic system.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
  • Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calibration checks.
  • Improve job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.
  • Protect the practice by adhering to professional standards.
  • Update and file medical records according to facilities policies/procedures, state, federal/guidelines/regulations/laws.
  • Enhance practice reputation by accepting ownership of all performed duties while providing value to the organization.
  • Take on-call on a rotating basis and provide services on-site and clinical after hours.
  • Set up and break down on-site operations.
  • Pack supplies for scheduled on-site events.
  • Work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.

  • Drive over 500 miles weekly when needed.
