About The Position

We are seeking a friendly, compassionate Bilingual (English/Spanish) Certified/Registered Medical Assistant at our Fort Myers clinic to support our provider as a ''Scribe'' and our clinical team in delivering exceptional, patient-centered care. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patients—welcoming them with a warm smile, assisting with check-in, and ensuring a smooth, efficient visit. You will also support providers with clinical tasks such as patient intake, assisting with exams and procedures, performing basic tests, and helping patients feel comfortable and informed throughout their care. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Active CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification required (with ongoing continuing education)
  • 1+ year of Medical Assistant experience preferred; clinical/internship experience a plus
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Familiarity with EHR systems
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient intake, including vital signs, medical history, medications, and allergies
  • Assist providers with exams, procedures, wound care, and diagnostic testing
  • Perform EKGs, immunizations, and specimen collection per protocol
  • Prepare and process lab samples and point-of-care tests accurately
  • Maintain infection control, safety standards, and clinical equipment
  • Support patient triage, care coordination, and education on treatment plans
  • Document all patient care and updates in the EHR accurately
  • Manage front office functions including patient check-in, registration, and scheduling
  • Verify insurance, process authorizations, and collect copayments
  • Handle calls, referrals, medical records, and administrative tasks (filing, faxing, scanning)
  • Coordinate appointments and ensure efficient patient flow across providers
  • Review accounts, resolve discrepancies, and support billing processes
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance, patient confidentiality, and regulatory standards
  • Monitor inventory and prepare exam rooms with necessary supplies
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and maintain accurate documentation
  • Provide professional, compassionate customer service to patients and staff
