About The Position

ChristianaCare's Minimal Invasive Gyn Surgical Department in Newark, DE is seeking a professional, dependable, detail-oriented Medical Assistant I with strong communication, integrity, and solid technical and clinical skills. ChristianaCare’s Center for Advanced Gynecology & Minimally Invasive Surgery provides specialized care for conditions such as endometriosis, fibroids, ovarian cysts, abnormal bleeding, and chronic pelvic pain. Our expert surgeons use advanced, minimally invasive techniques to deliver safer procedures, shorter recovery times, and improved outcomes. We are committed to personalized, patient-centered care, offering individualized treatment plans and same-day surgical options in a convenient, high-quality setting. This position rotates between offices in Smyrna, Newark, and Concord. As a Medical Assistant I, you support physicians in virtual and on-site patient care, performing essential clinical and clerical duties to ensure quality care.

Requirements

High School Graduate or GED required
Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)

Responsibilities

Greets and supports patients virtually and in person
Prepares patients for visits
Performs basic clinical tasks (e.g., testing, injections, EKGs)
Assists with exams
Maintains exam rooms and equipment
Manages EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling
Handles clerical duties
Troubleshoots video visits
Supports patient portal access
