About The Position

ChristianaCare's Minimal Invasive Gyn Surgical Department in Newark, DE is seeking a Medical Assistant I to support physicians in virtual and on-site patient care. This role involves performing essential clinical and clerical duties to ensure quality care. The department provides specialized care for conditions such as endometriosis, fibroids, ovarian cysts, abnormal bleeding, and chronic pelvic pain, utilizing advanced, minimally invasive techniques. This position rotates between offices in Smyrna, Newark, and Concord.

Requirements

High School Graduate or GED required.
Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

Responsibilities

Greets and supports patients virtually and in person.
Prepares patients for visits.
Performs basic clinical tasks (e.g., testing, injections, EKGs).
Assists with exams.
Maintains exam rooms and equipment.
Manages EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling.
Handles clerical duties.
Troubleshoots video visits.
Supports patient portal access.
