Our comprehensive program offers screening and detection services, inpatient and outpatient cancer care, infusion therapy, and patient support resources through our partnership with ChristianaCare’s Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute. Our specially trained oncology nurses provide expert care, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, therapeutic infusions, and transfusions, while Oncology Nurse Navigators help guide patients and families throughout their cancer journey. Cancer Program – ChristianaCare Cecil County As a Medical Assistant I, you will assist physicians during the examination and treatment of patients, whether through virtual or on-site appointments. This role is crucial for delivering quality patient care and encompasses various clinical and clerical duties within medical practice.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians during the examination and treatment of patients, whether through virtual or on-site appointments.
  • Greet and support patients virtually and in person.
  • Prepare patients for visits.
  • Perform basic clinical tasks (e.g., testing, injections, EKGs).
  • Assist with exams.
  • Maintain exam rooms and equipment.
  • Manage EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling.
  • Handle clerical duties.
  • Troubleshoot video visits.
  • Support patient portal access.
