About The Position
AMC is a specialty medical clinic focused on the treatment of substance use disorders and related medical conditions. We provide comprehensive, low-barrier, evidence-based medical care including medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD), long-acting injectable therapies, hepatitis C treatment, obesity medicine, and coordinated behavioral health support. We are seeking either a Certified Medical Assistant or a motivated Pre-Certified Medical Assistant eligible for on-the-job training (OJT) to join our collaborative medical team.
Requirements
- Current Certification from ONE of the following or ability to receive certification within 6 months of hire: American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), National Health career Association (NAHP), National Health career Association (NHA – CCMA), OR licensure as Oregon EMT (Intermediate or Paramedic)
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification
- Basic knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding conventions
- Working knowledge of medical documentation standards
- Familiarity with practice management systems
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA
- Prior healthcare exposure (clinical, administrative, or college-level coursework in a health-related field)
- Basic medical terminology knowledge
- Demonstrated ability to work in a healthcare environment
- Willingness to complete certification requirements within designated timeframe
Nice To Haves
- AAMA certification
- Two (2) years of medical assisting experience
