Christiana Care Urology at Elkton is seeking a professional, dependable, detail-oriented Medical Assistant I with strong communication, integrity, and solid technical and clinical skills. As a Medical Assistant I, you will assist physicians during the examination and treatment of patients, whether through virtual or on-site appointments. This role is crucial for delivering quality patient care and encompasses various clinical and clerical duties within medical practice.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or GED required
- Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
Responsibilities
- Greet and support patients virtually and in person
- Prepare patients for visits
- Perform basic clinical tasks (e.g., testing, injections, EKGs)
- Assist with exams
- Maintain exam rooms and equipment
- Manage EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling
- Handle clerical duties
- Troubleshoot video visits
- Support patient portal access
