About The Position

ChristianaCare Cardiology at Elkton is seeking a professional, dependable, detail-oriented Medical Assistant I with strong communication, integrity, and solid technical and clinical skills. Cardiology at Elkton provides specialized care in cardiology. Our specialists are highly experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of various types of heart conditions and other serious diseases and provide our patients with the best cardiac care possible. This practice utilizes state-of-the-art equipment and the latest procedures available in cardiac medicine. As a Medical Assistant I, you support physicians in virtual and on-site patient care, performing essential clinical and clerical duties to ensure quality care.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

Responsibilities

  • Greets and supports patients virtually and in person.
  • Prepares patients for visits.
  • Performs basic clinical tasks (e.g., testing, injections, EKGs).
  • Assists with exams.
  • Maintains exam rooms and equipment.
  • Manages EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling.
  • Handles clerical duties.
  • Troubleshoots video visits.
  • Supports patient portal access.
