About The Position

Southwoods Health is currently hiring a Medical Assistant for our Gynecology office in Warren. The Medical Assistant will work collaboratively with their team, partnering with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, comprehensive patient care. This position is responsible for performing a wide range of skilled clinical and administrative duties.

Requirements

1+ years of experience directly related to hands-on patient care.
Exceptional customer service, strong multitasking capabilities, and proficiency utilizing medical record databases.
Current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).

Nice To Haves

Prior experience as an STNA, CNA, Phlebotomist, or Pharmacy Technician is highly desirable.
Formal Medical Assistant schooling is a plus, but not required if equivalent clinical experience is met.

Responsibilities

Create a welcoming, friendly, and professional environment for patients and visitors through exceptional customer service.
Room patients in a timely manner utilizing two unique patient identifiers.
Obtain and record vital signs, chief complaints, current medications, and allergies in patient charts.
Collect and process various specimens by following proper collection, storage, and recording protocols.
Prepare laboratory specimens in a timely manner for transport, maintaining positive specimen identification throughout processing.
Report and record critical laboratory values, adverse reactions, and pertinent information promptly to physicians and team members.
Perform administrative duties as assigned, including scheduling appointments, answering phones, filing, and maintaining medical records.
Recognize and support patient rights and responsibilities in the daily performance of job duties.
Ensure all processes within the practice maintain strict compliance with regulatory agencies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
