This is a Part-time Medical Assistant Floater position. The role involves adhering to the Medical Assistant scope of practice, following all policies and procedures, and maintaining training and competency. Responsibilities include performing rooming/visit tasks such as vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and screenings. The Medical Assistant will also assist providers with procedures, perform lab-related duties including venipuncture and specimen collection, conduct Point of Care testing, and administer medications and vaccines safely. Additional duties may include medication refills, insurance authorizations, safety/regulatory log completion, patient messaging, medication/supply ordering, appointment scheduling, and referrals. The position requires effective communication, teamwork, and maintaining a clean work environment with properly stocked and functioning equipment and supplies. There may be opportunities to assist with training and onboarding of new teammates or serve as a role champion or on a committee. The role requires the ability to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development over the life span and assessing patient status based on age-specific needs.
