About The Position

Harrison County Hospital is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant/Float for its Physician Practices. The position works Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for 40 hours per week. The Medical Assistant/Float works closely with the Physician/Provider in a clinical practice setting, assists with direct patient care, and serves as a clinical liaison between the Physician/Provider and patients, and between the Physician/Provider and office staff. The role promotes communication among care providers, patients, and office staff about the patient’s care plan as defined by the attending Physician/Provider. The incumbent attends to patients of all ages, applying age-appropriate principles of growth and development according to the practice specialty.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to work independently and with groups.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Annual CPR recertification.
Ability to operate office equipment, including a computer, printers, fax machine, copy machine, and telephone.
Good knowledge of medical terminology.
Use correct terminology, spelling, and grammar in documentation.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with healthcare professionals, patients, families, and employees.

Nice To Haves

LPN or Medical Assistant degree preferred.

Responsibilities
