About The Position

Harrison County Hospital is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant/Float for its Physician Practices. The incumbent works closely with the Physician/Provider in the practice clinical setting, assists with direct patient care, and serves as a clinical liaison between the Physician/Provider and patients, as well as between the Physician/Provider and office staff. The role promotes communication among care Providers, patients, and office staff regarding the patient’s care plan as defined by the attending Physician/Provider. The incumbent attends to patients of all ages using age-appropriate principles of growth and development according to the practice specialty. The position is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Ability to work independently and with groups.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Annual CPR recertification.
Ability to operate office equipment, including a computer, printers, fax machine, copy machine, and telephone.
Good knowledge of medical terminology.
Use correct terminology, spelling, and grammar in documentation.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with healthcare professionals, patients, families, and employees.

Nice To Haves

LPN or Medical Assistant degree preferred.
