About The Position

A Medical assistant has accountability for providing care to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting. This will involve caring for patients with acute and chronic needs. A Medical Assistant will be responsible for communicating clearly with patients seeking care through different modalities including telephone and in-person interactions. Requirements

  • Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers (Medical Assistant Resident)
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers (Medical Assistant), must be obtained prior to start date
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program OR 1 year of Medical Assistant Experience OR current RN/LPN license

Responsibilities

  • Providing care to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting
  • Caring for patients with acute and chronic needs
  • Communicating clearly with patients seeking care through different modalities including telephone and in-person interactions
  • Assisting the provider to gather information that is relative to the patient’s visit and condition
  • Working with cross functional teams to collaborate on patient care
  • Demonstrating attention to detail and follow-through in helping to provide the care that is needed
