About The Position

The Medical Assistant/CMA or CNA assists providers with patient care, medical record documentation, and treatment so patients can receive quality care. The role obtains and processes doctors’ orders and provides good customer service by phone and when interacting with patients, doctors, and other medical staff.

This position is with the Idaho Heart Institute in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Mountain View Hospital describes its work environment as mission-driven, people-centric, and supportive.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited high school program or higher.
• Certificate of training for Nurse’s Aide.
• Current BLS certification.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience with computers and office equipment.
• Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Understanding of medical terminology.
• General math skills.
• Ability to make sound judgments, stay organized, multitask, and think critically.
• Ability to understand input from a supervisor or manager concerning errors and instructions.
• Attention span and concentration sufficient to listen to, read, and remember verbal and written instructions.
• Good communication skills and ability to work well with others as a flexible team player.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet multiple competing deadlines.
• Good customer service skills.
• Ability to recognize and understand laboratory complexity and reflex testing.
• Basic computer knowledge, including basic knowledge of CPSI and patient scheduling.
• Ability to handle or defuse conflict involving patients, their families, and staff.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a CMA course.
• Six months of PACU or Medical Surgical experience.
• Bilingual ability.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient care, medical record documentation, and treatment.

• Maintain open lines of communication with hospital staff, medical staff, patients, and their families.
