About The Position

The Clinical Care Coordinator I provides patient care according to the needs of the age-specific population and assists in managing patient care in a physician office setting under the direct supervision of a provider. The role is with FPG Orthopedics. Individuals providing care to vulnerable populations must undergo background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse as part of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System’s safety commitment.

Requirements

• Meet one of the following qualifications: hold current, active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification from an accredited certifying agency; hold an active Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) license and have at least one year of medical assistant or clinical healthcare experience; or have at least one year of medical assistant work experience.
• If qualifying through medical assistant work experience without current CMA or RMA certification, obtain CMA or RMA certification within 12 months of hire/start date.
• Hold Basic Life Support/CPR certification or obtain it within 30 days of hire/transfer date.
• High school diploma, GED, or certificate.

Nice To Haves

• One year of clinical experience in an outpatient physician’s office practice.
• Experience with electronic practice management and electronic health record programs.
• Ability to demonstrate self-direction and initiative.
• Demonstrated knowledge of electronic practice management and electronic health record software, and skill with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
