About The Position

The Certified Medical Assistant plays a critical role in supporting healthcare providers by delivering high-quality clinical and administrative assistance in a medical setting. This position ensures efficient patient flow by preparing patients for examinations, recording vital signs, and assisting with medical procedures under the supervision of physicians or nurses. Requirements

Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) from an accredited program.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Strong understanding of medical terminology and clinical procedures.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in a clinical healthcare environment.
Additional certifications such as Phlebotomy or EKG Technician.
Familiarity with insurance billing and coding processes.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Bilingual abilities to assist diverse patient populations.

Responsibilities

Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs, medical histories, and recording symptoms.
Assist healthcare providers during examinations and minor procedures by handling instruments and supplies.
Manage patient records, including updating electronic health records (EHR) and ensuring confidentiality.
Schedule patient appointments, answer phone calls, and coordinate communication between patients and medical staff.
Perform basic laboratory tests, collect specimens, and ensure proper labeling and handling.
Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of medical equipment and examination rooms.
Educate patients on medication instructions, treatment plans, and follow-up care as directed by healthcare providers.
