About The Position

Western NC Community Health Services (WNCCHS) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) committed to caring for patients with purpose and integrity and providing its team members with the support they need. They are looking for a full-time Certified Medical Assistant who may earn a quarterly bonus up to $500 by meeting or exceeding quality and productivity measures.

Requirements

Current certification as a Medical Assistant - required
OR, 3 to 5 years as medical assistant in an outpatient health care setting
Medical Assisting education
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs and Electronic Health Records systems

Nice To Haves

Postsecondary technical course(s) helpful, but not required

Responsibilities

Perform clinical duties under the direction of a physician, nurse practitioner, or registered nurse
Perform phlebotomy, and process specimens for patients of all ages
Set up medical examination rooms, prepare and administer medications and vaccines
Obtain vital signs and patient information
Obtain EKG’s, assist with wound care and minor surgical procedures e.g., removal of benign cyst
Serve as a preceptor for new staff
Assist in administrative duties as needed, including handling calls
