About The Position

Sea Mar Community Health Centers is seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant for their Medical Clinic in Mt. Vernon, WA. Sea Mar is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) founded in 1978, dedicated to providing comprehensive health, human, housing, educational, and cultural services to diverse communities, with a specialization in serving Latinos in Washington State. The organization serves all individuals regardless of race, ethnicity, immigration status, gender, sexual orientation, or ability to pay. The Medical Assistant is a crucial part of the care team, responsible for ensuring patient flow and delivering quality patient care efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, a professional and enthusiastic demeanor, and strong multitasking abilities. This is a mandatory COVID-19 and flu vaccine position.

Requirements

Must have a Washington State MA-Certificate or possess an MA-Interim License and pass the exam within the 90-day probationary period
Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR within 90 days of hire date and maintain current BLS CPR throughout employment
Bilingual in Spanish/English required

Responsibilities

Follow protocol in rooming and exiting patients
Complete all provider referrals for each patient
Administer injections and distribute oral medications under physicians' order
Perform venipuncture
Assist the medical provider with charting office visits
Ensure communication and documentation for comprehensive patient care coordination
