Medical Assistant Certified - Pediatric Endocrinology
About The Position
The Certified Medical Assistant supports patient care by performing related services, including accurate patient registration and insurance verification. The role requires sound judgment and effective communication with patients, families, licensed personnel, insurance companies, and third-party payers, along with a professional and caring manner. The Certified Medical Assistant assists physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in providing medical care and supports patient accounts, appointment scheduling, phone coverage, and communication about provider changes and patient benefits.
Requirements
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification is required.
- BLS is required.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- One year of medical office experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Meet expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
- Assist physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in providing medical care.
- Accurately enter charges on patient accounts, register patients, and update patient accounts.
- Verify insurance and record statistics.
- Assist with scheduling patient appointments, answering phones, keeping providers informed of changes, and informing patients of their benefits.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
