About The Position

The Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) is an integral member of the Physician/Advanced Practice Provider office team and works under the direction and supervision of a licensed healthcare practitioner. The role requires safe clinical skills performed within the MA-C scope of practice and involves ongoing contact with physicians, APPs, nurses, front office staff, patients, and patients’ families or caregivers.

This is a 1.0 FTE day-shift position with a Monday–Friday schedule. External applicants with at least one year of experience who commit to two years are eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus.

Requirements

• Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) credential.
• Current BLS certification.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organize patient flow in collaboration with front office staff.
• Interview patients and obtain vital signs.
• Assist patients in preparing for exams or treatments.
• Collect specimens, including performing venipuncture.
• Administer medications in compliance with Washington State Department of Health regulations and documented competency.
• Relay instructions and information to patients and their families or caregivers.
• Send and receive patient medical records.
• Facilitate patient referrals.
• Prepare forms for patients.
