About The Position

This role is for a Medical Assistant, Certified (CMA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Kootenai Urgent Care, working part-time with 12-hour shifts and rotating weekends. The position involves working across three locations: Coeur d'Alene, Hayden, and Post Falls, with scheduled shifts varying based on team needs. The team provides high-quality, comprehensive medical care for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries, open seven days a week, with in-office X-rays available. Responsibilities include taking vitals, administering injections, basic triage, and assisting in minor procedures. The role requires a solid understanding of medical terminology, computer and phone systems, excellent customer service, and good written/verbal communication skills. Ideal candidates will be knowledgeable of routine office procedures and medical instruments, and will screen patient phone calls for the provider. This position adheres to all policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure patient safety and compliance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Completion of accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Current CMA certification by AAMA, NHA or NCCT required
  • BLS Required. Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or KH BLS within 60 days of hire
  • State of Idaho Licensed Practice Nurse
  • BLS Required. Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or KH BLS during general orientation.
  • Solid understanding of medical terminology
  • Proficiency with computers and phones
  • Knowledge of routine office procedures
  • Knowledge of medical instruments

Responsibilities
