About The Position
Cameron Health is a 25-bed, independent, not-for-profit facility serving Angola and Steuben County since 1926. It has evolved into a modern, high-tech facility offering advanced diagnostics, various specialties, and cutting-edge treatment options combined with personalized and compassionate care. This position is within the Cameron Family Medicine - W. Maumee department.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program or medical assistant program.
- Current LPN license in the State of Indiana.
- Certified medical assistant or registered medical assistant.
- Has general knowledge of nursing theory and practice.
- Has been educated in basic pharmacology and the administration of medications.
- CPR provider certification within 6 months.
Nice To Haves
- Proficient in EPIC including retrieving patient records, entering patient data (e-form) and locking record.
- Familiar with policies in Policystat, including nursing, registration and disaster policies.
Responsibilities
- Provides nursing care to patients as directed by the provider utilizing the nursing process.
- Performs patient access functions.
- Exemplifies good customer service.
- Effectively communicates and gets along well with others.
- Completes patient care assignments as directed by provider and clinical protocol.
- Reports significant findings to the provider.
- Prepares clinic areas for patient care at the beginning of the shift.
- Secures clinic areas nightly.
- Greets patients on arrival.
- Registers and enters patient data into the Health Information system.
- Scans insurance card information.
- Admits patients, taking brief history and vitals.
- Performs procedure set-up and assists provider as indicated.
- Discharges patient with prescriptions/instructions and documents in patient’s chart.
- Maintains adequate medical supply and medication inventory.
- Schedules surgeries or referrals as ordered, attain prior authorizations for surgeries when needed, provides patient education and instruction information.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Office Manager.
