Requirements

  • A minimum of six months’ experience in Urgent Care, Primary Care physician practice setting and/or direct patient care experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion in an accredited Medical Assistant Training program.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Must have BLS within 30 days of hire.
  • Successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia training within 90 days of hire, if required by department.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assisting providers with patient care, clerical, insurance verification and prior authorizations, environmental and organization tasks.
  • Responsible for appointment scheduling and chart management.
  • Provides Information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinic services.
  • Conveys a positive image of organization.
  • All clinical tasks performed by MA II’s must occur under the direct supervision of a licensed clinician (MD, DO, APN, PA) who is physically present in the facility and immediately available.
