Medical Assistant Cardiology
About The Position
A Medical assistant has accountability for providing care to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting. This will involve caring for patients with acute and chronic needs. A Medical Assistant will be responsible for communicating clearly with patients seeking care through different modalities including telephone and in-person interactions. Shift Details: 40 hours/week, Full Time. Clinic hours are Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm. Schedule can be either 4 days/10 hour shifts (7:00am-6:00pm) or 5 days/8 hour shifts (7:30am-4:00pm). Unit/Location: Intermountain Heart Institute Clinics @ Park City & Heber Additional Details: Please review Minimum Qualifications listed below before applying. Must be willing to rotate and work in all 7 clinics that this team covers. Prior experience with EKG's is preferred. The candidate selected for this position will be primarily located at our Park City and Heber locations. However, due to clinic coverage needs and provider schedules, there may be rare occasions that traveling to work in our Salt Lake area clinics will be required. Requirements
- This position requires one of the following: Proof of completion of a Medical Assistant program OR at least one year of Medical Assistant work experience OR current active and in good standing RN/LPN license to practice nursing in the state where applying
- Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers. Must be obtained prior to start date
- Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
- Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction.
- Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI) of patients, members, and caregivers.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting.
- Computer literacy in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other relevant software.
- Current national MA certification from one of the following national MA certifications or registrations: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) of AMT, National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) of the AAMA
- Prior experience with EKG's is preferred.
