The Cardiology Medical Assistant will adhere to the Medical Assistant scope of practice, follow all policies and procedures, and maintain training and competency based on the area of specialty when providing patient care. This role involves performing rooming/visit tasks such as vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and screenings. The assistant will also support providers with procedures, handle lab-related duties including venipuncture and specimen collection, perform Point of Care testing, and administer medications and vaccines safely. Additional duties may include medication refills, insurance authorizations, patient messaging, supply ordering, appointment scheduling, and referrals. The position requires cross-training for duties relevant to specialty or clinic practice, demonstrating effective communication and teamwork, and maintaining a clean, well-stocked work environment. The incumbent must possess the knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care.
