About The Position
Baptist Health is seeking a Medical Assistant 1 to join their Ortho team in Coral Gables. This full-time position offers a $3000 sign-on bonus and operates on an 8A-4:30P schedule. The Medical Assistant works under the clinical supervision of the practice physician(s) and office manager, assisting physicians in patient care. Responsibilities include interviewing patients, measuring and recording vital signs, and preparing specimens for laboratory analysis. Requirements
- High School, Cert, GED, Trn, Exper
- Emergency Medical Technician
- Licensed Practical Nurse
- Certified Nursing Assistant
- Registered Medical Assistant
- Basic Life Support
- Must have at least one of the above required licenses/certifications (MA, CNA, LPN, EMT).
- BLS required for all.
- For Primary Care Practices, EKG and Phlebotomy Certifications are also required for employees with the CNA license only.
- CNA, LPN, EMT license must be from Florida.
- Must be professional, organized, and a detail-oriented team player with effective interpersonal communication skills and excellent customer service skills.
- Possesses compassionate demeanor and high ethical standards.
- HIPAA/OSHA compliance required.
- Communicates effectively with patients, physicians, co-workers and practice manager.

- Bilingual preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assisting the physicians in the practice.
- Assisting in examination and treatment of patients.
- Interviewing patients.
- Measuring vital signs (i.e.: pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height).
- Recording information on patients charts.
- Drawing and collecting blood samples from patients.
- Preparing specimens for laboratory analysis.
