About The Position

Norco is seeking a Medical AR Specialist to manage accounts receivable billing and payment collection for designated payers and locations, supporting company goals. The role focuses on claim submissions and rejections, denial management, collection of current and aged insurance receivables, account adjustments and status changes, audits, payment posting, refunds, and patient calls. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

Knowledge of the insurance process, medical terminology, and coding.
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Ability to understand and remember accounting codes and use them appropriately.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Ability to accurately enter computer data and learn software applications needed for the position.
Excellent problem-solving, public relations, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
Attention to detail and ability to perform multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

Research and resolve claims from the date of denial for assigned reason codes.
Monitor accounts receivable balances and contact patients when collection issues arise.
Post electronic and non-electronic payments.
Submit insurance claims to payers and process rejected or denied claims by sending appeal and/or reconsideration letters.
Verify patient eligibility, coverage, and benefits, and identify authorization requirements.
Process claim denials within established company timelines across a variety of denial reason codes.
Work accounts receivable through reports, system programs, and audits.
Perform other tasks as assigned or necessary.
