Public Notice - Medical and Healthcare (Direct Hire)

Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center•Houston, TX

About The Position

NASA is recruiting for Medical and Healthcare positions across various organizations at Johnson Space Center. Positions may be filled at GS-11, GS-12, or GS-13. Duties described in the announcement reflect the highest grade; at lower grades, duties are more limited in scope, complexity, and independence and are commensurate with the selected grade. The role supports the protection of worker, crew, and subject health through hazard anticipation, exposure assessment, risk analysis, compliance, and preventive controls. It includes analyzing applicable datasets, including epidemiological data, to identify associations between exposures and outcomes; helping evaluate control effectiveness through follow-up monitoring, risk assessments, and audits; and translating complex health, exposure, and risk information into actionable guidance for employees, leaders, and technical teams. The position also participates in research and occupational surveillance concerning occupational disease trends, exposure-reduction strategies, radiation effects, and environmental health risks. It contributes to integrated occupational and medical risk management by collaborating with clinical, behavioral health, environmental, biomedical engineering, and other teams to inform program-level risk mitigation strategies. Applicants must meet the basic education requirement and the specialized experience or education qualifications for the selected grade. The position is open to U.S. citizens, nationals, and people who owe allegiance to the United States. Selection may require a probationary period and a pre-employment background investigation or higher-level clearance. Other requirements, including financial disclosure, drug testing, and travel, may vary by duty location and NASA Center.
