This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, strong clinical skilled compassionate Medical Assistant or Nurse looking for a part time position and gradually move to full time when the opportunity becomes available in our Allergy Clinical Department to help grow department's longevity. We are open Monday - Thursday, 8:00-5:00, Friday, 8:00-2:00, while this position is for Fridays only, there must be flexibility to work additional days if needed. You must be multitask oriented, motivated, able to handle a high volume of patients, be a self-starter and willing to learn all aspects of Allergy and ENT.

Requirements

  • Minimum TWO years' HANDS ON Clinical experience.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a clear speaking voice.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally at all times with patients, physicians and team members.
  • Must be current with your License or Medical Assistant certification or willing to participate and pass our in house 1 year employee commitment training course and National test.

Nice To Haves

  • Allergy experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with patients for 30-80 minutes.
  • Follow allergy protocols.
  • Answer patient calls.
  • Take patient histories.
  • Give injections.
  • Perform allergy skin tests.
  • Obtain authorizations.
  • Prepare exam rooms.
  • Perform sterilization techniques.
  • Handle inventory.
  • Reconcile existing information for established patients manually or via patient portal (past medical history, current medications, surgeries and family history).
  • Ensure appropriate boxes are indicated in EMR to document the scribe acknowledgement.
  • Review charts at the end of patient encounters, verifying accuracy before physician signs off on chart note.
  • Identify any discrepancies and/or missing information.
  • Obtain proper consent forms and ensure proper scope of practice is followed.
  • Sterilize instruments in accordance with CDC, ENTAAF and if applicable with Autoclave manufacturer requirements (cold sterilization autoclave).
