About The Position

The Medical Affairs Specialist is responsible for managing the activities of the Dermatology Medical Affairs team, including medical plans, congress activities, Investigator-Initiated Studies (IIS), external engagement, and planning & execution of special projects. This role involves working with Medical leadership to prepare for internal meetings and implement outcomes, including scheduling and tracking of agenda items, supporting presentation development, and tracking completion of action items. The specialist will also collaborate with key stakeholders to identify and improve best practices across departmental functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 1+ year of pharma experience required (industry fellowship experience accepted)

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree (MS, PharmD, PhD) preferred.
  • Prior medical affairs experience, including relevant post-doctoral fellowships, in the pharmaceutical industry preferred.
  • Will consider candidates with PharmD or therapeutically relevant Ph.D., without prior industry experience.
  • Possesses an understanding of drug development process and clinical trials
  • Proficient at multitasking on multiple ongoing projects, with agility to course adjust/modify, and remain highly detailed oriented and with timely deliverables
  • Able to operationally function and communicate in a cross-functional and matrix organization across various teams
  • Able to adapt behaviour to situation, to influence outcomes without direct authority and to hold oneself and others accountable for commitments in a productive, collaborative and assertive manner
  • Excellent written, oral communication and strong organizational skills
  • Possess scientific and business acumen and some basic financial skills

Responsibilities

  • Supports the dermatology medical affairs team with management of medical plans
  • Manages and tracks performance against departmental goals
  • Manages activities from Medical Affairs agencies for key deliverables
  • Manages outputs from advisory boards, field insights, and external medical affairs activity
  • Proactively seeks relevant evidence/insights/facts by attending congresses and keeping abreast of the literature
  • Support the development of scientific resources and materials associated with departmental initiatives
  • Support maintenance of online Medical portals (SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive)
  • Leads/supports tactical projects as assigned
