About The Position

As part of our Global Medical Organization (GMO), you’ll work alongside collaborative and scientifically driven teams dedicated to advancing veterinary diagnostics and education worldwide. We are seeking a Medical Affairs Specialist (MAS) with expertise in veterinary parasitology and infectious disease to join our Global Medical Affairs team. Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Global Medical Affairs, this role combines scientific expertise, medical education, and cross-functional collaboration to support innovative diagnostic solutions and veterinary best practices.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) required
  • 5+ years of relevant academic, clinical, research, and/or veterinary industry experience
  • Licensure or ability to obtain licensure required
  • Strong scientific reasoning and critical thinking skills with the ability to develop and assess veterinary medical content and educational materials
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, management, academic professionals, clinical specialists, and internal/external Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)
  • Experience presenting to professional audiences through lectures, conferences, webinars, continuing education programs, or similar forums
  • Ability to maintain familiarity with current topics and issues in clinical veterinary medicine and diagnostic technologies
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities independently
  • Service-oriented mindset with strong professionalism, collaboration, and integrity
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and across cross-functional teams
  • Comfort learning and utilizing technical and digital tools as needed
  • Fluency in written and verbal English

Nice To Haves

  • DACVM (Parasitology), or equivalent specialty training, preferred
  • MS and/or PhD is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in parasitology and infectious disease, maintaining broad and current knowledge of IDEXX infectious disease diagnostics, emerging technologies, and evolving topics in veterinary medicine.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide medical guidance, support scientific and educational initiatives, and help deliver meaningful resources to the veterinary community.
  • Collaborate with Global Medical Organization Centers of Excellence (CoEs), Marketing, R&D, Lines of Business (LOBs), and external Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to provide medical guidance supporting product development, medical communications, and scientific positioning of new and existing products.
  • Work with regional medical subject matter experts and KOLs as part of IDEXX’s broader global medical network.
  • Serve as a scientific and medical liaison between IDEXX and the veterinary community.
  • Provide deep expertise in veterinary parasitology along with a broad interest in infectious disease diagnostics and clinical applications.
  • Deliver medically focused presentations and educational seminars at conferences, customer events, and other professional programs.
  • Support the development and execution of clinical and/or data studies that help build medical evidence supporting IDEXX products and veterinary best practices.
  • Maintain awareness of current topics, emerging diagnostics, and evolving issues in clinical veterinary parasitology and infectious disease.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, veterinary professionals, academic collaborators, and clinical specialists.
  • Communicate complex medical and diagnostic information clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences.
  • Support internal and external educational efforts related to the medical applications and clinical value of IDEXX products and services.
  • Educate internal and external audiences on the medical messaging, scientific foundations, and clinical use of IDEXX products and services.
  • Provide training and support on specialized infectious disease and parasitology diagnostics throughout the product lifecycle, from development through on-market support.
