About The Position

Medtronic is seeking a Medical Affairs Manager to lead their Acute Care and Monitoring (ACM) Medical Education and Medical Science program execution. This role involves strategic leadership for a team that delivers customized education programs to healthcare professionals (HCPs), enhancing their knowledge of ACM technologies, clinical and economic evidence, and supporting product adoption to improve patient outcomes. The manager will be responsible for the design, development, and execution of local and national education programs, and will play a key role in building and maintaining cross-functional partnerships and customer relationships. The position focuses on continuous process improvement, strategic execution, and excellence in medical education and medical science initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in the use of PC software applications including Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • The employee is regularly required to be independently mobile.
  • The employee is also required to interact with a computer and communicate with peers and co-workers.
  • Candidates for roles below Principal level require unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and for the duration of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the execution of strategic projects to drive business impact and improve effectiveness of medical education and medical science efforts
  • Build and maintain highly efficient, effective processes to deliver against strategic medical education and medical science objectives
  • Lead the team that plans and coordinates external HCP education programs, including Medtronic-owned programs, symposia, and conferences
  • Design and facilitate attendee experience to support needs related to meeting attendance
  • Partner with stakeholders to align and execute programs against strategic direction
  • Generate, analyze, and communicate event-level and cross-event reporting against identified key performance metrics and value-proposition indicators
  • Incorporate program management best practices in all aspects of work
  • Develop, foster, and maintain key relationships with cross-functional partners and healthcare professionals to ensure innovative and effective education is brought to clinicians
  • Collaborate with field-based partners to understand local customer education needs and provide education solutions
  • Provide expert communication with internal and external partners including physician faculty and business leaders
  • Address all aspects of budget and billing, including development of and tracking against budgets and managing expenses for self and team members
  • Direct the responsibilities of direct reports
  • Mentor, develop, and coach direct reports on performance expectations
  • Provide leadership to ensure the prioritization of strategic and department-level initiatives
  • Work in all systems that align to Medical Education and Society events, including but not limited to Teams, HCP Engage, Smartsheet, and salesforce.com
  • Ensure education programs meet company and customer objectives
  • Ensure personal understanding of all quality policy/system items that are personally applicable.
  • Follow all work/quality procedures to ensure quality system compliance and high-quality work
  • Provide on-site support for medical education, medical science, and society events when needed
  • Exhibit strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Exhibit strong time management and project management skills.
  • Be flexible and able to adapt to changing requirements and priorities.
  • Ensures all activities are compliant with Quality System requirements.
  • Performs duties in compliance with environmental, health and safety related site rules, policies, or governmental regulations
