Requirements

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s License or other efficient means of transportation and willing to travel for work purposes.
  • Four years of related professional experience.
  • Use Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Use APD iConnect to complete business processes.
  • Knowledge of methods of compiling, organizing, and analyzing data for the purpose of monitoring and evaluating staff.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Ability to demonstrate and provide responsive customer service.
  • Ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively.
  • Ability to use tracking systems to monitor and complete work assignments within required timeframes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, and the ability to prepare reports.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the direct supervision of the Medicaid Waiver Unit for the Region, including but not limited to, providing technical assistance and training to Qualified Organizations (QO), waiver support coordinators (WSCs), Consumer Directed Care Plus (CDC+) Consultants, working with service providers, assisting individuals and families in accessing services, ensuring compliance with Medicaid requirements, conducting WSC case transfers, and other initiative impacting clients serving in the waiver program.
  • Assists the DROM in completing ad hoc reports and other assignments.
  • Directs the work of employees to ensure maximum use of time and resources.
  • Participates in planning, development, implementation and evaluation of service programs for persons with developmental disabilities served through the Medicaid Waiver program.
  • Assists in the identification and resolution of specific problems concerning policy implementation and service delivery.
  • Provides technical assistance regarding programmatic and individual issues and assist in interpreting rules, policies and standards.
  • Keeps staff informed of level of achievement on performance indicators and works with other Regional staff to improve performance.
  • Manages oversight of annual medical necessity reviews for all individuals served through the Medicaid waiver program for the Region.
  • Verifies correct iBudget amount for each individual annually.
  • Ensures that assignments are met within required timeframes.
  • Oversees processes by ensuring submissions made to the Regional Operations Manager (ROM) and Deputy ROM (DROM) for approval follow the Agency operating procedure and process.
  • Provides technical assistance to staff in the interpretation Medicaid rules, procedures, and requirements.
  • Seeks clarification from the State office as needed regarding new/ongoing policies.
  • Provides feedback on Waiver Support Coordinator and Medicaid Waiver provider scorecards as requested.
  • Ensures current and new information regarding the Medicaid waiver program is provided to waiver support coordinators during monthly meetings.
  • Coordinates Regional specific training and technical assistance for waiver support coordinators.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
