About The Position

The Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a motivated individual to join the Medicaid and Long-Term Care team to fill the role of Medicaid Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) Program Coordinator. The Medicaid RHTP Program Coordinator will work closely with the Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) projects. Under limited supervision, the Program Coordinator coordinates the administration of various state and federally funded programs throughout the state to include grant/contract administration, budget monitoring, and the development of program policies, procedures, and evaluation criteria to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; performs related work as required. “You have the passion; we have the opportunities – let’s make a difference for Nebraskans!”

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, social/behavioral sciences, health sciences, public health, education, law or related field OR experience in the development of operational policies and procedures, performing quality assurance analysis/evaluation of programs; grant writing, contract management, or leading community based health/social care groups.
  • Related coursework, training and/or education may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge related to Medicaid, rural health, project management.
  • Strong communication and public speaking skills.
  • Experience with data analysis and interpretation.
  • Experience working in the rural health space, Medicaid (or Medicare/commercial health insurance), or project management (in the healthcare space).
  • Experience working in advocacy or for a community-based organization.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and tracking program timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Reviewing, auditing, and reporting on grants and contracts supporting Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) projects.
  • Ensuring expenditures align with approved budgets and funding requirements.
  • Analyzing and reporting data related to program outcomes and rural health system performance, Identifying risks or variances.
  • Maintaining comprehensive documentation to support compliance and reporting activities.
