Medicaid Case Manager
About The Position
The Medicaid Case Manager serves as a resource for clients seeking assistance with obtaining, maintaining, and understanding health insurance coverage. This role supports the Resiliency Center and Josselyn by working directly with individuals and families on Medicaid applications, Marketplace enrollment, insurance renewals, eligibility verification, and resolving coverage barriers. The position collaborates with clinical, intake, billing, and care coordination teams to help clients access affordable healthcare services and avoid interruptions in coverage. The position is onsite at the Maple Office in Northfield, Illinois, Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM. Compensation is $21.98–$27.47 per hour, determined by the hiring manager based on experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field.
- Minimum one year of experience in healthcare enrollment, benefits assistance, social services, case management, or customer service is preferred.
Nice To Haves
- Experience assisting with Medicaid, Medicare, ACA Marketplace, or public benefits programs is strongly preferred.
- Bilingual skills are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients in completing Medicaid applications and redeterminations.
- Support clients with enrollment in Marketplace (ACA), Medicare, and other insurance programs as appropriate.
- Educate clients on available insurance options and eligibility requirements.
- Advocate for clients experiencing barriers to coverage or access to care.
- Connect uninsured or underinsured clients to appropriate coverage resources and financial assistance programs.
- Maintain organized records of applications, renewals, verifications, and supporting documentation.
- Stay informed regarding changes to Medicaid, Medicare, Marketplace plans, and other healthcare coverage programs.
- Collaborate with clinical, intake, billing, and care coordination teams to support clients’ access to healthcare coverage.
