About The Position

The Louisiana Department of Health is seeking a motivated Medicaid Analyst Supervisor to lead a team of Medicaid Analysts and ensure high-quality, accurate service delivery. In this role, you will oversee workflow, maintain compliance with state and federal policies, support staff with complex cases, monitor case quality, provide in-service training, and handle reviews, investigations, and fair-hearing inquiries. Requirements

  • Six years of social services experience; OR Six years of full-time experience in any field plus three years of social services experience; OR A bachelor's degree plus three years of social services experience; OR An advanced degree plus two years of social services experience.
  • Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and directs the daily activities of Medicaid Eligibility Analysts to ensure accurate and timely eligibility determinations for Federal and State Medicaid programs.
  • Oversees staff work within the Louisiana Medicaid Eligibility Determination System (LaMEDS), including complex eligibility reviews, benefit determinations, and authorization approvals.
  • Interprets and applies complex federal, state, and agency policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Medicaid eligibility requirements and program standards.
  • Provides ongoing coaching, remedial instruction, and policy training to staff to support performance, accuracy, and professional development.
  • Recruits, interviews, selects, and develops employees while ensuring all personnel actions comply with Civil Service Rules and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Reviews and validates system-generated eligibility decisions, correspondence, and decision letters to ensure accuracy and adherence to policy.
  • Establishes work schedules, priorities, and operational plans for subordinate staff and managers while monitoring productivity, attendance, and appropriate use of state resources.
