About The Position

The Louisiana Department of Health is seeking a motivated Medicaid Analyst Supervisor to lead a team of Medicaid Analysts and ensure high-quality, accurate service delivery. In this role, you will oversee workflow, maintain compliance with state and federal policies, support staff with complex cases, monitor case quality, provide in-service training, and handle reviews, investigations, and fair-hearing inquiries. Requirements

Six years of social services experience; OR Six years of full-time experience in any field plus three years of social services experience; OR A bachelor's degree plus three years of social services experience; OR An advanced degree plus two years of social services experience.
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Responsibilities

Supervises and directs the daily activities of Medicaid Eligibility Analysts to ensure accurate and timely eligibility determinations for Federal and State Medicaid programs.
Oversees staff work within the Louisiana Medicaid Eligibility Determination System (LaMEDS), including complex eligibility reviews, benefit determinations, and authorization approvals.
Interprets and applies complex federal, state, and agency policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Medicaid eligibility requirements and program standards.
Provides ongoing coaching, remedial instruction, and policy training to staff to support performance, accuracy, and professional development.
Recruits, interviews, selects, and develops employees while ensuring all personnel actions comply with Civil Service Rules and applicable laws and regulations.
Reviews and validates system-generated eligibility decisions, correspondence, and decision letters to ensure accuracy and adherence to policy.
Establishes work schedules, priorities, and operational plans for subordinate staff and managers while monitoring productivity, attendance, and appropriate use of state resources.
