About The Position

The Department of Journalism and Media Production at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions. This is an applicant pool for affiliate faculty, and screening will occur when positions become available. These are temporary, part-time, non-tenure track academic positions, and the number of openings varies each semester based on program needs. Not all applicants in the pool will be contacted or selected to teach. MSU Denver, founded in 1965, serves over 16,000 diverse students and is a model university for today's college students. It is a Hispanic-Serving Institution (gHSI) and the only Seal of Excelencia certified institution in Colorado, serving the most diverse undergraduate student population in the state, including many first-generation students. Responsibilities

Teach 3 - 9 credit hours in areas such as writing, video, and interactive media production at the 1000-level or above, including courses like Media Production, UX/UI, and Media Entrepreneurship.
Be available for consultation with students.
Teach assigned classes in person or online by delivering course content.
Prepare course materials and lesson plans.
Grade student work and provide timely, robust feedback.
Address student questions consistent with university, college/school, and department policies.
Provide online or in-person academic support to students as needed.
Provide instruction consistent with the regular course syllabus and department coordination policies.
Comply with university-wide student evaluation of instruction policies and peer observation policies.
Adapt and learn new modes of instruction.
Be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse student population.
