About The Position
NBCUniversal is seeking a Media Operations Specialist to join the Technology & Operations team in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, supporting NBC10 and Telemundo62. The role covers media ingest, records, live streaming, quality control, and media asset management, along with basic support for the Newsroom Content System. The specialist works with newsroom users and production technology in a high-performing team, supporting live television and related media workflows.
Requirements
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience.
- Proven ability to contribute to multimedia projects across video, sound/music, and television production environments.
- Fundamental understanding of audio/video signal flow.
- Basic time-management skills while working under tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of video and audio file formats.
- Robust interpersonal skills for a diverse and energetic newsroom.
- Ability to self-manage tasks efficiently and take initiative.
- Ability to remain level-headed and work under the pressures of live television.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
- Experience in a live production environment.
- Ability to make sound technical decisions under pressure.
- Willingness to work in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
- Willingness to travel and work outside standard hours, including weekends, with short notice.
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities
- Record and ingest content into servers.
- Set up live shots for newscasts and shows.
- Quality-control video and audio signals for live productions.
- Monitor and fulfill media ingest requests.
- Monitor and manage archive workflows.
- Monitor and manage server storage space.
- Perform basic video editing and trimming.
- Educate users on standard operating procedures.
- Troubleshoot workflow and newsroom system issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
