About The Position
NBCUniversal is seeking a Media Operations Specialist to join the Technology & Operations team in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, supporting NBC10 and Telemundo62. The role covers media ingest, records, live streaming, quality control, media asset management, and basic support for the Newsroom Content System. The specialist will work with newsroom users and leading-edge production technology in a high-performing team.
Requirements
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience.
- Proven ability to contribute to multimedia projects across video, sound/music, and television production environments.
- Fundamental understanding of audio/video signal flow.
- Basic time-management skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and messaging communication skills.
- Working knowledge of video/audio file formats.
- Robust interpersonal skills for a diverse and energetic newsroom.
- Self-starter who can manage tasks efficiently and work independently.
- Able to remain level-headed under the pressure of live television.
- Available to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
- Experience in a live production atmosphere.
- Ability to make sound technical decisions under pressure.
- Willingness to work in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and to travel and work outside standard hours and on weekends with short notice.
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

- Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Record and ingest content into servers.
- Set up live shots for newscasts and shows.
- Quality-control video and audio signals for live productions.
- Monitor and fulfill media ingest requests.
- Monitor and manage archive workflows.
- Monitor and manage server storage space.
- Perform basic video editing and trimming.
- Educate users on standard operating procedures.
- Troubleshoot workflow and newsroom system issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
