About The Position

Swanson Russell is seeking a Media Buyer/Planner to join their team. This role involves contributing to both the planning and execution of media campaigns for a diverse range of clients, channels, and platforms. The position requires close collaboration with media team members, account teams, and media partners to develop media recommendations, execute campaigns, analyze performance, and identify optimization opportunities that align with client objectives. This role is ideal for individuals aiming to build a career in media strategy, offering hands-on experience in media buying and planning, and developing skills for greater strategic responsibility. Candidates should be based in Lincoln or Omaha to facilitate in-person collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Advertising, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 1-3 years of experience in media buying, media planning, paid media, digital advertising, marketing, or a related field.
  • Demonstrates an interest in understanding audiences, media channels, and business objectives.
  • Ability to analyze budgets, campaign performance, audience insights, and research data.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
  • Comfortable navigating evolving platforms, technologies, consumer behaviors, and media best practices.
  • Works effectively across disciplines—including account service, creative, analytics, and media teams.
  • Able to manage multiple accounts, projects, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development, maintenance, and execution of media plans and schedules across assigned client accounts.
  • Support media recommendations through audience research, budget analysis, and channel evaluation.
  • Ensure media plans are executed accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist in evaluating audiences, media opportunities, historical performance, and marketplace trends to support media recommendations and long-term planning efforts.
  • Launch, manage, monitor, and optimize campaigns across major paid media platforms, ensuring delivery aligns with approved plans, budgets, and performance goals.
  • Analyze budgets, campaign performance, audience data, and industry research to support media recommendations, uncover optimization opportunities, and inform future planning decisions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with media partners.
  • Collaborate closely with account, creative, analytics, and media team members to support planning, execution, and reporting efforts.
  • Monitor media delivery, pacing, reporting, billing, and campaign performance.
  • Resolve discrepancies and help ensure media investments deliver against client objectives.
