Requirements

  • Associate's degree of Nursing
  • Two (2) years RN experience within applicable clinical specialty and/or Charge Nurse Experience
  • Valid compact state or Arizona RN license
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certificate
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certificate
  • American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support certificate

Nice To Haves

  • Trauma Nurse Core Course, within Twelve (12) months or Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses, within Twelve (12) months or Trauma Certified Registered Nurse, within Twelve (12) months or Transport Nurse Advanced Trauma Course, within Twelve (12) months
  • Bachelor's degree of Nursing

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients.
  • Advocate for fellow nurses as you support them in reaching their full potential, which aligns with your department's operational goals and objectives.
  • Be accountable and confident.
  • Be an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups.
  • Be comfortable holding tough conversations, as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit.
  • Mentor others in areas such as competency, documentation, equipment use, plan of care, National Patient Safety Goals, and participation in inservice education.
  • Coach to improve care.
  • Provide direct patient care as appropriate to meet the needs of the patients and department.
  • Prepare work schedules, assign personnel.
  • Coordinate patient flow on the unit to facilitate the provision of timely and effective care.
  • Demonstrate appropriate prioritization and critical thinking skills in critical situations.
