Requirements

  • Associates Of Science Nursing
  • Two (2) years RN experience within applicable clinical specialty and/or Charge Nurse Experience
  • Valid compact state or Arizona RN license
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certificate
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certificate
  • American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support certificate
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course, within Twelve (12) months or
  • Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses, within Twelve (12) months or
  • Trauma Certified Registered Nurse, within Twelve (12) months or
  • Transport Nurse Advanced Trauma Course, within Twelve (12) months

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Of Science Nursing
  • CVICU experience for Critical Care Charge Nurse

Responsibilities

  • Mentors others in areas such as competency, documentation, equipment use, plan of care, National Patient Safety Goals, and participation in inservice education.
  • Coaches to improve care
  • Provides direct patient care as appropriate to meet the needs of the patients and department.
  • Prepares work schedules, assigns personnel.
  • Coordinates patient flow on the unit to facilitate the provision of timely and effective care
  • Demonstrates appropriate prioritization and critical thinking skills in critical situations
