About The Position

Join a high-acuity Neuro Ortho unit at George Washington University Hospital, where you’ll care for complex patients—including stroke, TBI, and spine cases—while building advanced clinical skills in a leading academic medical center. This 42-bed acute care unit is a Comprehensive Stroke Unit and a Level IV Epilepsy Center. The patient population includes individuals with stroke and neurologic conditions, traumatic brain injury, and spine and orthopedic surgery patients. This unit offers high-acuity experience in neuro and trauma care, strong clinical support and leadership, and opportunities for professional growth in an academic setting. Supportive staffing models are designed for high-acuity care, with flexible scheduling options including self-scheduling and balanced weekend rotations.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
• BLS
• Current state nursing license.
• Requirements specified for specialty unit

Nice To Haves

• One year full time or three years part time experience in acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care for neuro, trauma, and post-operative patients
• Monitor and assess complex neurologic conditions
