About The Position

This is a self-scheduling full-time night shift position for a Med/Surg Registered Nurse in the Western Market Regional Resource Pool, serving Sentara JH, Sentara RMH, and Sentara SNVMC. The role offers flexible work schedules, self-scheduling, premium pay, and a resource pool differential. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. Professional performance standards encompass ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health. The RN must possess clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards for specific clinical areas. The position requires the nurse to work in all units for which they are qualified and a minimum of two different units. The nurse must reside within 75 miles and 90 minutes of two hospitals in the Northern Virginia or Blue Ridge region: Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA; Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, VA; and Sentara Martha Jefferson in Charlottesville, VA.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse Diploma (Required)
  • Registered Nurse License (Required)
  • BLS within 90 days of hire (for all Direct Care RNs)
  • Minimum of 18 months (most recent experience) as RN in acute care setting.
  • Available to work 36 hours per week Full-time status, a minimum of 144 hours per month.
  • Must reside within 75 miles and 90 minutes of two hospitals in the Northern Virginia or Blue Ridge region: Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA; Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, VA; and Sentara Martha Jefferson in Charlottesville, VA.
