To perform all routine laboratory testing. This position involves 3 / 12 hour shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. General accountabilities include greeting all patients, visitors, physicians, and other staff members in a courteous, respectful, and professional manner, responding to patients with empathy and positive interpersonal skills, reporting for scheduled shifts on time and prepared, wearing proper uniform/attire, managing meal breaks, varying work schedule to meet department needs, ensuring department manager approval for all scheduled overtime, seeking supervisor approval before working beyond scheduled hours that will result in overtime, scheduling all time off with supervisor’s approval, strictly adhering to hospital attendance/tardiness policies, performing all assigned duties, wearing I.D. badge in a visible location, protecting I.D. and access badge and reporting any issues or loss immediately, attending and participating in meetings and being responsible for information communicated, attending all mandatory in-service training, participating as an active team member, reading communications, identifying own educational needs and maintaining appropriate skill level through educational opportunities, exercising a commitment to practicing behaviors in agreement with the spirit of cooperation and reflecting the values described in the Code of Mutual Respect and Professionalism, assisting all patients, family members, physicians, visitors, and employees professionally and courteously, extending special attention and sensitivity to all, actively promoting diversity and inclusion, assisting in maintaining an atmosphere of cooperation and teamwork, demonstrating a genuine willingness to prevent or resolve inter-personal conflicts, demonstrating the ability to participate in and/or implement team decisions, adhering to HIPAA and all applicable privacy laws, following Infection Control procedures, adhering to environmental care standards, demonstrating adequate knowledge of safety policies and procedures, security issues, and complying with the Mid-Valley Hospital & Clinic Personnel Handbook and Policies and the collective bargaining agreement of the UFCW 21 and Mid-Valley Hospital. The role also requires the ability to adapt to varied age-specific patient populations, with non-clinical personnel having no responsibility for patient assessment, treatment, or care, but requiring communication and interaction with patients of all ages.
