Immerse yourself in projects that are making history in the world of pet care and make significant impacts in everything we do.   As a Mechanical Plumber, you’ll conduct repairs, replacements, installations, and maintenance of facility components, ensuring compliance with plumbing codes and regulations. You’ll utilize your trade skills as required of a Journeyman Plumber/Pipefitter to ensure the efficient operation and functionality of our plumbing infrastructure.

Requirements

  • High school diploma of GED equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in plumbing and/or piping systems maintenance
  • 2+ years of commercial, industrial and/or manufacturing experience
  • Must be willing to work a Tuesday through Saturday schedule
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Must be able to perform the physical requirements necessary, such as lifting and carrying up to 50+ pounds, to meet the expectations of job assignments

Nice To Haves

  • Journeyman Plumber license is preferred
  • 1+ years of pipefitting experience is preferred
  • Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester certificate is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Apply principles of piping systems, particularly the flow of different materials at various pressures, including vacuum
  • Work with piping and plumbing system components, specialties, and control devices, including control valves, traps, pressure regulators, automatic vents, expansion tanks, air separators, and pressure and temperature safety devices
  • Applies knowledge of piping system principles to ensure safe and efficient transport of fluids and gases under various pressure conditions
  • Repairs, maintains, installs, and cleans air conditioning and air handling equipment and components
  • Collaborate with team members to plan and execute plumbing projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines and specifications
  • Adhere to plumbing codes, regulations, and safety standards to ensure compliance
  • Troubleshoot and repair systems, vacuum systems, hydraulic systems, perform shaft alignments (pump to motor relation)
  • Work with mechanical seals, lip seals, bearing replacement, bearing pulling tools, pipe and tube sizes, and high pressure hoses
