About The Position

This internship focuses on advanced mechatronics systems within the Metrology division at KLA. The intern will gain experience working in a corporate environment, solving real-world problems, and developing custom control systems for high-precision wafer stages. The goals will be tailored to the intern's education and experience levels. KLA provides advanced inspection tools, metrology systems, process solutions, and computational analytics that enable electronics, addressing complex challenges from electron and photon optics to machine learning and data analytics.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a Masters's or a Ph.D. degree with a minimum of 3.5 GPA
A Master's degree is preferred in electrical, robotics, control systems, mechanical engineering, data science or related field.
Experience in any one of the following areas: Machine Vision, Precision machine design, Machine Learning
Experience in the validation of hardware systems.

Responsibilities

Collaborate and work with design engineers to design advanced metrology systems.
Work independently on data collection, analysis, and managing projects.
Perform hands-on work with hardware and gather the necessary data in the lab or the cleanroom.
Present the technical analysis in both verbal and written format and presentations to the team.
Work in specified timelines and milestones.
Willingness to take on responsibility and ability to quickly ramp from the existing documentation and on-job training.
Identify any gaps and propose solutions in the implementation.
Ability to modify tuning algorithms.
Use first principles in the design work when needed.
