We are seeking a skilled Mechatronics Systems Engineer for a full-time or part-time on-site position in Torrance, CA. In this role, you will design, develop, and test advanced X-ray inspection systems, contributing to innovative hardware and software solutions that meet the unique needs of our clients. Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in mechanical system design and engineering
- Hands-on work proficiency, competency in CAD software, excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a team to achieve project goals.
Nice To Haves
- Proficiency in Python
- Experience with image acquisition hardware
- Experience in programming/control of robotic arms
- Background in aerospace, defense, or related high-tech industries
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and presentations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and analyze X-ray system designs using CAD software
- Select components for optimizing the system performance, work with suppliers on fabricating custom system components
- Fabricate prototype parts in-house (e.g., using a mill, lathe, or 3D printer)
- Assemble prototype systems by integrating mechanical components with actuators and data acquisition hardware, while verifying the system functionality with respect to the design parameters
- Conduct field testing and demonstrations to validate system performance
- Collaborate with other team members to meet project milestones and deliver high-quality solutions
- Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
