About The Position

The UXDC team develops ideas for new features and products for Volkswagen brands through research, ideation, prototyping, and testing. It builds proof of concepts to help stakeholders understand proposed ideas. The fellow will collaborate with the team and assist with research and development, learning from UX designers and mechatronics engineers how to develop a product or feature from an initial idea through a final proof of concept. Approximately 90% of the role is devoted to engineering concepts and prototyping, and 10% to lab overhead. Lab work includes helping maintain the model shop, learning and evaluating tools and machines, and proposing and justifying capability improvements. This 6–12 month fellowship is intended for an eligible student or recent graduate in a relevant engineering discipline.
