About The Position

As a Mechatronics Engineer, you will integrate mechanical, electrical, and software subsystems into cohesive, high-performing automated products for Vale. This role involves designing and developing mechatronic systems, leading system integration, developing and validating control systems, creating system specifications, building and testing prototypes, resolving integration issues, and supporting manufacturing transfer and field deployment.

Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • 4+ years of mechatronics or systems engineering experience in product development
  • Strong foundation in mechanical design, electrical circuits, and control systems
  • Experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar) and PCB design
  • Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent for modeling and simulation
  • Hands-on prototyping experience and ability to work in a lab environment

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechatronic systems that integrate mechanical, electrical, and software components
  • Lead system integration activities across subsystem teams during product development
  • Develop and validate actuation, sensing, and feedback control systems
  • Create detailed system specifications and interface control documents
  • Build and test prototypes to validate design concepts and refine performance
  • Identify and resolve integration issues across mechanical, electrical, and software domains
  • Support manufacturing transfer and field deployment of mechatronic systems
